We all started our year in Iceland but my mom and I quickly left the semi cold winter there and went to Providence were is was really cold. We took a short weekend trip to New York with all the kids who really seemed to like Toys”R”us. After that my mom went to Europe to meet my dad and I went to England to stay with my cousin, Alexandra. After a few days we all met again to take a flight to Dubai, which was our one day stopover trip on the way to Africa.Read More
For Christmas itself we were going to stay in Amsterdam. Again we found an odd place to sleep in because now we were staying on man-made islands. The house we were in is half in the water, but others around us stood completely in the middle of it. This house was on three floors and the stairs were a bit better than in the cube houses in Rotterdam, but it was still a hassle walking up and down.Read More
After a lot of different ideas we decided to spend christmas in Holland. One of my two older brothers, Atli, came with us. He suggested that we should come here because it had been a very long time since he had last visited. My mom, dad and two brothers all lived in Rotterdam before I was born so it was nice to go and see where they had lived.Read More
I was very exited when we were going to Vegas, I mean, who wouldn't be? I've seen a lot of movies that take place in Vegas and it's almost all the same. The only difference that I noticed is that they make it look more fancy in the movies. When your watching the Oceans 11, 12 and 13 movies everyone in the casino looks so happy and cheer when someone wins but in reality it's a very sad place to be in.Read More
As I mentioned in my Salt Lake blog, we were now traveling around as a small group for a few days. We started by driving down from Salt Lake, through Provo and to a place called Bryce Canyon.Read More

My dream is to become a filmmaker and direct both regular and animated movies so Los Angeles was a very good place to be. I loved everything about it, all the people were nice and friendly and it was just the kind of atmosphere I like to be in. We stayed right by West Hollywood just above Universal Studios and next to Warner Bros Studios so it was like heaven for me.Read More
Now we have arrived at our last stop in Peru. For now at least. This time we did decide to fly instead of driving, which I by the way, was very grateful for.
We were going to Puno and to do that we had to fly to a place called Juliaca and then drive from there. It only takes an hour to fly and less than an hour to drive so it was a short trip.Read More
Machu Picchu is one of the main reasons we came to Peru, and now it was finally time to go see it. We had spent the whole day before exploring the Sacred Valley so we were pretty tired but we still had the strength to wake up at 4:30 to take a short bus ride. It took about 20 minutes to drive and on the way we saw beautiful mountains that reminded me a lot of the Napali Coast in Kauai.Read More
One of the main reasons we came to Cusco was to go to Machu Picchu. We decided to take a tour through the Sacred Valley and end in Aguas Calientes the day before we'd go there. The Sacred Valley of the Incas or the Urubamba Valley is a valley in the Andes of Peru.Read More
The day we came to Cusco was the day we'd been in a bus for more than 22 hours. As you may imagine we were very lazy and tired, especially me cause I hadn't slept at all that night. We arrived in Cusco around four O' clock and barely managed to eat before we went to sleep.Read More
Lima is the capital city of Peru and our next stop. I had never been to South America or anywhere in the Southern hemisphere so this was the most exciting leg yet. What made the trip even more fun was that my grandfather and his spouse, Ditta, were with us but going to Peru has always been my grandfather’s dream.Read More
I had been looking forward to go to Florida because I had never been there and it's a popular vacation spot for Icelanders. Many of my friends had been there so I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. They had mostly been to Orlando and I was in Miami and I don't know if theres a big difference between the two places but based on what I've seen I'm pretty sure that Florida won't be one of my favourite places.
When we were at my Aunt's house we decided to take a short weekend trip up to Canada. I was really exited because I had never been there but had always wanted to. It's a 8 hour drive from there house in Barrington to Toronto and it's not really fun for a two year old to sit in a car that long so we slept in Syracuse one night to make the driving easier.Read More
